Why do I need to register with the site?

There are two reasons to register with Horse Shares UK. Firstly, it allows you to communicate with other users about their advertisements using a private messaging service. Secondly, you must register in order to post an advert on the site. By registering you create an account with us and can easily place advertisments. It also allows you to log back into the site and modify, renew or delete your advert. You can register by clicking here. Once you have registered you will be able to log in to your account using the login name and password you chose. You will also receive an email, which will contain your login information. We do not ask for any payment details until you have purchased a paid advert.



How do I place an advertisement?

To place an ad you must first register. Once you have registered and logged into your account, you will see 'Place an Ad' in the side menu to the left. Click on this link and then select the category you want your advertisment to be displayed in. You will then be able to select a listing package and give the details of your advertisement. You will then be forwarded to our paypal pay page. You do not need to have a paypal account to pay using paypal.

How do I pay?

If ads require a payment you can pay using PayPal, a reputable secure online payment provider. Your bank or credit card statement will show that you made the payment to HorseSharesUk (pay@horsesharesuk.com). A Paypal account is not required to pay using Paypal and most credit cards are accepted.



What is a featured listing?

If you choose to upgrade your listing to a featured listing, your advertisement will appear on the homepage*, on the "featured listings" page and will have a highlighted background in searches, making it stand out. In addition, all featured adverts appear first in searches* before the other adverts. This means that featured listings are likely to get the more views from people browsing the website.



When will my ad appear on the site?

Adverts are posted straight onto the website as soon as payment has been received.



How do I edit my advert?

To edit your advert, first log into your account and then choose 'Modify An Ad' from the left sidemenu.



How do I renew my advert?

Adverts are displayed on the site for a set number of days. 7 days prior to their expiration you will recieve an email notifying you that your advert about to expire. To renew your advert, first log into your account and then choose 'Modify An Ad' from the left sidemenu. You will then see an option to renew your advert.



How do I delete my advert?

To delete your advert, first log into your account and then choose 'Modify An Ad' from the left sidemenu. You will then see an option to delete your ad.



I cannot see my advert

Once payment for your advert has been received it will be posted online. Newly approved adverts are displayed on the "New listings" page in addition to the category in which you placed them. It is worth noting that featured advertisements (the ones with a highlighted background) always appear first in searches and therefore, if you have not chosen this as an optional extra your advertisement will be displayed after the featured listings.




*All featured advertisments appear first in all searches in inverse chronological order. Featured listings on the homepage are displayed on a rota basis. A maximum of 16 adverts are displayed on the homepage and different adverts will appear each time the page is refreshed or viewed.
